Being petite doesn’t mean that you are short and thin. Petite women are under 5’4” but they can be any weight. There are a few tips that petite should follow, based on weight.
If you are petite and have a very small frame, don’t overlook children’s clothes. They will fit much better and today, children’s clothing is not as childlike as it once was.
Short skirts: If you are going to be wearing a skirt, short skirts are better than long skirts. Your legs are already short enough, the last thing that you want is for them to be shorter. A short skirt will add length to you legs.
Tuck in your shirts: If you are wearing a shirt that goes down to your hips, tuck it in. It will make your legs look longer and slimmer.
Cuff long shirts at the elbow: You should avoid wearing long sleeve shirts. If you do, cuff them at the elbow. It will make them look longer.
Work with a tailor: It can be hard for petite women to find clothing that fits regardless of the size of their frame. It is a good idea to find a regular tailor you trust and have your clothes altered. The better they fit, they better they will look.
